Trade in goods and services is defined as the transactions in goods and services between residents and non-residents. It is measured in million USD, as percentage of GDP for net trade, and also in annual growth for exports and imports. All OECD countries compile their data according to the System of National Accounts (SNA).
Terms of trade are defined as the ratio between the index of export prices and the index of import prices. If the export prices increase more than the import prices, a country has a positive terms of trade, as for the same amount of exports, it can purchase more imports.
